Women and porn: The truth revealed

While men watch porn as if it’s a necessity, are women still confined to erotic literature only? Well, the topic women and porn–to say the least–is a highly debated one. But what makes it so intriguing? Men are curious to know if their female better halves enjoy porn as much as they do whereas women–who like watching porn themselves–want to make it look as if they are not the odd ones out. So the question is do women watch pornography? If it’s framed as plain as that, the answer is yes, women watch porn, and it’s increasingly becoming an open secret. But there’s more to it than just than an approval.

Men and women treat pornography much differently, and there are reasons to support this statement. We all of you know how men like to get right down to “it” rather than enduring a longer foreplay, but it’s not the same for women. Men when subjected to visual erotica are sexually aroused quicker than usual, and after that, all they want is to use it. It clearly states that men are more visual than women in terms of what they find erotic. It is hard to find even a single guy who has not been exposed to porn in his 20’s, while there are a lot of women who haven’t seen even a single clip. A lot of women like watching porn, but most of them prefer it with their male partners. If you ask if women prefer erotic novels over pornography, you might get a contradictory answer. What we are experiencing today is what they call “shifting trends”. It won’t be surprising if more women enjoy porn than men in the long run.

Men are from Mars and women from Venus; though gender difference is viable, but it should not be exaggerated. Both men and women watch porn for the same reason, to tickle their sexual fantasies, or maybe for a quick session of pleasure; but the difference is in the content they prefer. Women have a more complex sexual desire than men. Most of the women would prefer porn videos which are not just close-ups of the genital organs. For women, watching tasteful pornography with their male counterparts can be very stimulating. On the other hand, men treat porn as a refreshing entertainment and they exploit it all the time–a guy researching chemical formulas might suddenly be distracted by a sexy web advertisement, and boom! The next thing you know he’s on to exploring porn sites. For now, women are quite different than men when it comes to porn–though long exposure may change this theory.

Sex has become commonplace, and so has pornography. May be this is why porn had to be reduced to its rawest, most aggressive form, to remain fantastically surprising. Porn movies with vigorous men and women, loud voices, and unending orgasms lead to unrealistic expectations in both men and women negatively affecting their sexual life. There’s nothing bad in enjoying porn, but the only thing to understand is the “artificiality” involved. Communicating with each other about your fantasies and preferences can help develop a better sexual connection and greater intimacy.
