Motorola launched Moto E 2nd generation with host of improved features over its old version that comes with bigger display, improved processor and LTE support among others.
This feature gives you a comparison between Moto E2 and Moto G2.
The Moto E2 comes with 4G LTE speed, a 4.5” qHD with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Motorola is launching Moto E in various countries with both 3G and 4G version costing Rs.7430 and Rs.9288 respectively. Though it’s a buzz that 4G is coming to India very soon, but it is not very clear whether 4G version will come to India or not.
Design and Build
Moto G2 comes with bigger screen, quality speakers and dual SIM card slots that is expandable upto 32GB. 4G support has been declined to this device and is limited to 3G. This device is bigger than its predecessor in width and height and is well balanced.
Moto E2 has the same look as Moto E and measures 129.9*66.8*12.3mm.
Display
Moto G2 has a great screen with great viewing angles. It comes with 5” display with 720*1280p with 294ppi.
While Moto E2 comes with 4.5” qHD display with 40*960p along with 245ppi IPS with Corning Glass Gorilla 3.
Hardware and Performance
Moto G2 is powered by Snapdragon 400 quad core chip that runs on 1.2GHz and Adreno 305 graphics processor. The device is available in both versions in 8 and 16GB both with dual SIM slots.
It features basic specs like 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. You can work on both dual band routers that supports both processors. It has excellent sound, so you do not need to turn the volume high.
While Moto E2 has made improvement in terms of processor as now it features 64 bit Snapdragon 410 quad core coupled with 1.2GHz processor along with 1GB RAM. Connectivity too seems to be a big improvement as it now comes with LTE support.
Camera
Moto G2 comes with an 8MP sensor at rear and 2MP at front and an LED flash at the back. You can get better pictures and videos as it features panorama and HDR modes.
While Moto E2 comes with 5MP snapper and comes with an auto focus with 720p videos. For front, it has a VGA camera, might not satisfy a selfies lover but as we say something is better than nothing.
Software
Moto G2 comes with Android KitKat 4.4.4 and is upgradable to Lollipop 5.0. You can enjoy useful apps like Migrate that transforms all data from an old Android device or an iPhone. The best thing about Moto G2 is that it is easy to switch between SIMs along with Intelligent Calling feature that tracks which number from which number you can select the SIM to use.
While Moto E2 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
Battery
Moto G2 comes with 2070 mAh battery that can last for two days in case with light usage in which you can use YouTube, web browsing and checking phone calls and emails.
While E2 comes with 2390 mAh battery that can last for one whole day.
