There are eight steps for wall painting: the process of wall substrate, apply bonding agent, wall leveling, apply putty, brush primer, fix wall and brush finishing coat. Every step has its operating method and construction requirement. We should paint step by step.
Processing wall substrate: clean the peeling and relaxed part on the wall; repair with cement mortar; bond the crack with kraftpaper and white latex. Usually nonbearing wall like light body wall and thermal insulation wall need to paste wall cloth. Choose wall cloth and white latex or mesh with high quality. Relatively mesh has better crack proof effect.
Applying bonding agent: bonding agent can enhance the cohesive force of wall substratum. It can prevent the bulging phenomenon of wall and replace the artificial chiseling treatment. It is energy saving and time saving. The bonding agent should be brushed uniformly.
Wall leveling: we need to level the uneven wall by plastering anhydrite. Make sure the deviation of wall is not over 3 mm after wall leveling.
Applying putty: hard putty with fine particle is the best choice. Putty should be applied at least three times. The first time putty is thicker for it is related to wall leveling. The second and third time can be thinner for they are mainly used to make the wall smoother. The thickness of putty should be no more than 3mm, or it will easy to crack.
Grinding: grind is a crucial step for painting. It has direct influence on the final painting effect. The finer the sand paper is, the greater the effect will be. If the sand paper is too rough, there would be deep sand mark on the wall. Remove the dust after grinding, or it will affect the adhesive force of painting.
Brushing primer: primer should be brushed uniformly and make sure every inch of the wall is brushed.
Fixing flaw: after grinding the putty, there would be some flaws. But it is difficult to find. The flaws will appear after brushing primer, and then we need to fix them. Grind the fixed area and brush primer mixed with more water to prevent the chromatic aberration when applying finishing coat for different water absorption of wall.
Brushing finishing coat: control the water quantity when mix finishing coat. Too much water will affect the film thickness, touching feel and the hardness of paint film. High quality painting tools should be used. Pay attention to the wall corner, the joint part of every painting action and the direction of final painting.
