Dangerous goods containers are compulsory if your company needs to store potentially dangerous goods. The sturdy, strong, long-lasting and protected features of general purpose shipping containers provide an outstanding service in protecting all types of items in transit and during storage. However, the hazardous materials need an additional level of technology and expertise to ensure the protection of the workers and the general public. In fact, Australian Hazardous Goods Regulations ensure that the dangerous goods supplied in Australia should be classified, labeled, packaged, stored and transported according to specific Australian Standards.
The dangerous goods containers are designed to hold hazardous chemicals and contain any spillages of the cargo in the container to ensure that it does not adversely affect the user, the business or the environment. If you store or move dangerous goods, you need to do so safely and for that you need to choose a renowned company. The dangerous goods containers should be lockable and ventilated, making them perfect for storing hazardous liquids like paint, thinners, oils, diesel, and liquid chemicals as well as solid materials such as waste materials, car parts and other dangerous goods. They should be equipped with safety drain valves, ventilation grills at both the floor and ceiling levels, sump capacity for the effective containment of spills and more.

The dangerous goods containers must have the ability to safely transport and store a range of hazardous goods, including gas cylinders, flammable liquids, oxidizing agents, organic peroxides, toxic substances, flammable solids, corrosive substance as well as a range of other dangerous goods. The containers should not only be suitable for storing dangerous goods, but also non-hazardous materials where there are possible risks with spillage.

The dangerous goods storage containers are available in mostly three different sizes of 8 ft, 10 ft and 20 ft. They are designed to ensure maximum safety to you, your workers and the general public. The standard Australian dangerous goods containers are equipped with an internal safety door handle, the correct ventilation and a fully welded steel floor.

A car is much more than a necessity these days. For some people it is a status symbol,…

A car is much more than a necessity these days. For some people it is a status symbol, for some it is basic travelling need whereas to some it is love. Difficulty in availing public transportation is also a reason for its demand. Owning a car can provide you with absolute autonomy. It also provides flexibility such that one can use it as and when required and doesn’t need to depend on any schedule of the public transport. Just as cars, car parts for sale are available and they are a huge rage among the car owners.
Most Popular car parts for sale are as follows:

Radiator

Catalytic Convertor

Strut Assembly

Fuel Pump

Control Arm

Oxygen Sensor

Air Filter

Ignition coil

Potential Purchaser for Car Parts
The major purchasers of car parts are definitely the car manufacturers. Car parts are made with a variety of items which comprise of metals like steel, aluminium, iron and copper. Besides these plastic, rubber, glass are also used. These are used to make heavy gears like transmissions and engines. Such materials have undergone technological advancement throughout the years resulting in new automotive technology. Apart from the manufacturers the wholesaler might be the potential purchaser of car parts for sale to provide additional support to car dealers and build a healthy relationship with them. Car repair shops also look for car parts to cope with the need of their trade. They help the car owners by providing the part of their car which is to be replaced. A car mechanic is also a potential buyer.
Selling Used Car Parts Effectively
Before selling an old car, owners should reconsider its plight. If it has undergone irreparable wear and tear, the best place will be junkyard. However, if different parts of car are still working, they can be considered for sale. Giving out car parts for sale is nothing less than giving the car for sale. The easiest option to put them on sale is obviously the internet these days, so one needs to look for a good website. It provides effortless experience simultaneously providing access to a huge number of customers. Also check that these website always keeps back small percentage from the sale and reaches potential buyers.
The seller must have an insight into what is popular among the buyers. Parts like spark plugs and transmissions are hardly bought whereas radio, speakers, subwoofers, HVAC controls normally remain in huge demand. New tire being expensive, used car’s tires are also popular amongst car owners. Headlights are also popular with buyers. It must be verified that the car parts for sale are actually working. The first step to it is throwing out the parts which are not in the condition of functioning by testing them individually. To top them all one must be honest with the seller.
So, the advertisement of a car part must be detailed. It provides security to the customer. This will also annihilate the reputation of the seller. As pictures is the only way to show the car parts for sale to the customers, good pictures need to be taken for the sale of your product. They should show every possible angle of the part. The prices set should not be unreasonable they may be negotiable. Before setting the price sellers can look up for the price of similar products on websites to gain knowledge. the price of the car part must complement the condition the item. The price should be set keeping competition in mind as well. Other than selling car parts online, they can be sold to local junkyards which are involved in rebuilding projects. The seller can haggle here which is not an option for online buyers.

Disclaimer: The information presented below is meant to serve only as a guide on what to remember about the difference between car and truck accidents in the eyes of the law, and shouldn’t be taken as legal advice. To know more about how the law treats car and truck accidents, you would have to consult a licensed lawyer who can further orient you on what legal actions you can take in case you become involved in either one of them.
Here’s to hoping this won’t happen to you anytime soon, but imagine yourself for a moment that you’re casually driving while on your way to work when another car suddenly crashes onto you. To make things worse, a truck does the same to you a few minutes later. Then regardless if you believe in miracles or not, you somehow make it alive after having been hit by a car and a truck on the same day and sustaining injuries out of those two accidents. You might be thinking of filing only one lawsuit against the drivers of both the car and truck that hit you, but did you know that the law treats car and truck accidents differently?

What Are Some of the Legal Differences Between Car and Truck Accidents?
As much as you might initially believe that car and truck accidents are essentially the same since both involve vehicles, the law says otherwise. Thus, you would want to know some of the legal differences between car and truck accidents which are as follows:

A truck causes more substantial damage compared to a car.

At the risk of stating the obvious, a truck is bigger and heavier than a car. With the vast difference in size and weight alone, it then follows that you wouldn’t want to get involved in a vehicular accident with the former.

Even if a car and a truck are both running at the same speed, you would feel a greater impact when the latter crashes into you and causes a vehicular accident to occur.

The greater impact that you would experience once you collide with a truck then translates into a more extensive amount of injuries to you and damages to your vehicle.

There’s more to an accident involving a truck than driving while under the influence or getting distracted.

Both car and truck drivers can be held liable for two reasons that caused a vehicular accident involving them to occur. One is driving under the influence of either drugs or alcohol. The other is driving while distracted by a call or text that they felt like answering even if they’re behind the wheel.

However, truck accidents can also happen as a result of drivers either operating their vehicle despite being visibly exhausted or not securing their cargo properly.

Some truck drivers are made to work unreasonably long hours by their trucking company that they only clock in around half of the recommended eight hours of sleep for everyone, thus leading them to experience fatigue that can drastically affect their driving skills.

Trucks also usually carry heavy loads with them. If a driver hadn’t made sure to check first if all cargo had been properly secured after loading them in the back of a truck, it could spill out in the case of an accident and cause damage too, even if the truck itself didn’t collide with any other vehicle at all.

The driver of the truck that caused the accident to happen is usually not the only person to blame for it.

Whereas most car accidents are usually the result of the driver’s own negligence, those involving trucks not only puts the driver involved in hot water but their trucking company and even the manufacturer of the truck itself as well.

In the previous example, wherein a driver was made to operate a truck beyond their usual working hours by their trucking company, the latter can be held liable for making their driver work more than the reasonable amount of hours in a day that a person should be working.

On the other hand, if it was found out that a truck accident was caused by a defective part of the truck that wasn’t intentionally made that way by anyone, the manufacturer of the truck itself can also be held liable for having caused the accident to happen.

Hiring the services of an attorney who specializes in truck accidents can help you with the claim filing process and the negotiation of a settlement.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 250px; height: 250px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1062932554684497" data-ad-slot="7923851369"></ins>

Both car and truck accidents might be vehicular in nature, but in the former, you often have a good chance of getting out of it with only fairly minimal injuries to you and damage to your vehicle. The latter on the other hand is something that you might find yourself wishing to not happen to you at all as a truck is bigger in size, has more weight, and carries more load that can leave you seriously injured and your vehicle rendered beyond repair. If your initial notion regarding both car and truck accidents is that they’re relatively similar, you might find yourself surprised to know that the law treats both types of vehicular accidents differently. Thus, you would want to seek the services of a professional lawyer who can help you explore further what you can do legally to make those responsible for either a car or truck accident that you got involved in accountable for injuring you and damaging your vehicle.
Let’s face it, when you take price into consideration then the chances of you forking out for a brand new piece of construction equipment look pretty slim. After all, who wants to shell out £10,000 for a piece of equipment that’s likely to be used for a couple of weeks or months at most? The simple fact is that if you are going to need any specialist machinery then it isn’t going to be cheap.

But there are more advantages to hiring rather than just cost. By choosing to hire from a good company you’ll not only reduce costs but you’ll speed up your job time and improve overall efficiency. Read on to find out other reasons why you should hire rather than buy plant machinery for your next construction project.

Cost

It’s a well known fact that most people will base their decision on whether to hire or buy based on cost. Some may resort to taking out a loan or using an overdraft to meet the full cost upfront. However the risk of early demands on repayment of loans or overdrafts being withdrawn at short notice is very real and can wreak havoc on your cash flow.

Hiring will give you immediate access to the very best tools and equipment on the market without having to part with large amounts of cash. Only paying for the machinery when you need it will also mean you only have to spend money for services that you intend to us as and when you need it.

You can also spread the cost when hiring. After you have paid the deposit, many companies are happy to accept a monthly or even quarterly payment for rental. As the Construction industry continues to fluctuate between growth and decline, hiring rather than buying is an altogether safer bet.

And should there be maintenance and repair costs for hiring equipment these will fall to the hiring company rather and not your business, which is again another welcome cost saving.

Choice

When you purchase your machinery that means you’re stuck with it and you won’t be able to swap it for something else that fits another job better. By hiring you can return your machinery once the job’s done and replace it with something more suited to other work that needs done. Most of the time, you will be able to pick from a large selection of equipment that’s matches the specific requirements of the job.

One of the prime benefits of hiring is the financial freedom and choice that it brings to the buyer. If you buy instead of renting, you eat up capital that is then no longer available for other projects. Hiring the equipment you need for the job will free up precious cash for you to pursue other projects that can grow your business.

When you hire these costs are often immediately deductible as business expenses. If you buy on the other hand, these costs will often need to be depreciated over the lifetime of the equipment. So again this is another example when hiring can help you manage your cash flow better.

Hiring your equipment is also the perfect way to try it out without any obligation to buy it. You can test how well it performs and even get the chance to compare different brands and models of the equipment you intent to use.

Condition

When hiring plant machinery, you can be certain that that it’s in peak condition. If you are considering buying with a limited budget you might even buy second hand which means its reliability is questionable.

However, when hiring you don’t have this problem as the machinery has recently been serviced and is in full working order nine times out of ten. Before you use your hire equipment it will have been quality-checked by experts giving you peace of mind that you’re hiring something that’s up to the job and which also meets safety standards.

And this servicing doesn’t just stop after you have picked up your hire. Highly skilled engineers will be on-call to service any fault, helping keep downtime to a minimum. In the unlikely event that there is a fault with the machinery, then many companies will source a replacement within a short space of time.

Some hire companies may even upgrade you once a new piece of equipment enters the market, keeping you on the cutting edge with no cost to you.

Knowledge

If you buying a new piece of machinery for the first time chances are you won’t know what you’re dealing with.

Mastering the equipment can prove challenging and will require practice. You might even need to practice off-site which can raise concerns about safety.

Hire companies will be able to walk you through the safety procedures for the equipment they offer and many will also offer expert advice to help you get the most out of your hire.

Before you hire you rest easy knowing that you will get information on what is the best equipment for your job and benefit from the knowledge of a company who work with the equipment every day. By receiving good professional advice you can save yourself a lot of time, money and effort.

Flexibility

You’re never certain what you next project will be and how long it will last for. Every project will different, so the equipment you require will need to be different too.

Hiring equipment gives you the type of flexibility that you just don’t get when you buy. You can have it for as long as little time as you want. You will also have access to a variety of hiring options from short term contracts to leasing deals.

Plant hire can also meet temporary soars in demand. If you’re fortunate enough to see an influx of work roll in you will find yourself needing extra pieces to meet the increased workflow.

It’s much more sensible hiring what you need as opposed to buying outright when you only need the equipment for a set amount of time.

Depreciation

When you come to purchase something expensive such as a piece of plant machinery, naturally you’ll be thinking about when to sell and how much for. The sad truth is that the value of a piece of machinery plummets straight away the moment you pay for it, so you’ll never get back what you shelled out originally. You’ll have no such problem when you choose to hire your equipment, so if this is an area of concern then equipment hire is the only way to go.

Technology in the auto sector seems to be developing at rapid speed. With test for self-driven cars currently ongoing, it seems as though we may soon see a technological revolution in the way we travel. There is a number of company’s leading the way. Tesla seem to be in pole position for technology having just announced the world’s first self-driven truck. We have compiled a list of some of the coolest features which could soon be fitted in your car.

Autonomous Driving

Self-driving cars are just around the corner. There are a number of companies who are in the final stages of testing for autonomous cars and the deployment of autonomous technology seems to be imminent. Some modern cars already feature self-parking features; however it is likely that soon we will be able to take our hands off the wheel completely. Some feature that autonomous cars will come at the cost of driving related jobs; but that may not necessarily be true. There is room for humans to be able to work alongside technology, rather than as opposed to it. Read more on 3d renderings.

On screen interactive displays

Technological developments are developing rapidly on the inside as well as the outside of vehicles. Car manufacturers are developing better interactive technology all the time. Drivers can now receive on-screen traffic, weather and directional updates without even needing to take their eyes off the road. Not only is this improving driving experiences, but it is also proving to be a lot safer. As the driver no longer needs to take his eyes off the road, they are less likely to become distracted.

Improved protection from theft

Soon, car theft may become a crime of the past. Car marquees are currently developing technology which allows a car owner to remotely shut down a car without having to be inside or even anywhere near it. This is likely to result in both theft deterrents and also the safe return of any vehicle which has been stolen. In addition to improved theft protection, GPS systems are becoming more accurate and widely used in new cars. This means that any car which has been taken will be able to be tracked down quickly and accurately.

Speed

Although fast travelling cars is nothing new, the inability for electric and renewable cars to travel at fast speeds has often been a barrier for people to make the switch from fuel-powered cars. However, we are starting to see a big development in the technology behind electric sports cars. Tesla recently announced the production of a new roadster with the ability to travel from 0-60mph in just 1.9 seconds. This is a speed which was recently widely thought to be impossible by electric cars. With Tesla leading the way with this latest development, we could expect rival manufacturers to soon follow suit. It won’t be long until speedy electrics are widely available.

Talking Cars

Yes, cars will soon be able to communicate with one another. As scary as the thought is, the purpose of vehicle-to-communicate will provide a lot of useful information to road users. In the moment, Mercedes are the front runners when it comes to V2V communication. The latest Mercedes are able to provide information on traffic conditions, weather and critical information to other vehicles from the German manufacturers.

Connected Travel

Soon your car could become a hub of connectivity. In-car WiFi will soon allow passengers to receive and search for information on the move. Alongside the development of autonomous driving, ‘drivers’ could soon become passengers, allowing them to relax and use WiFi services while they travel. Annoying tasks such as driving around built-up areas in search of a parking spot could also soon be a think of the past with cars receiving real time updates with parking finder apps.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety declares that there were 35,092 deaths due to motor vehicle crashes in 2015. That is about 96 people per day being killed on American roadways. This includes pedestrians and bicyclists hit by motor vehicles and killed. On top of that would be the numbers for crashes that involve all sorts of injuries from broken bones to permanent paralysis. The toll on human life drives technological advancements to help drivers stay safe on the roads, and here are the top ones available today.

Brake Without Skidding

Anti-Lock braking technology met production vehicle models in the United States back in 1971 with the Chrysler Corporation’s Imperial. The anti-lock braking system (ABS) pulses the brakes rapidly to prevent the wheels from locking up and skidding. It works even if you press hard on the brake pedal to initiate an emergency stop. As the system evolved, more control of how each brake is applied has developed. You may see this on your car as electronic-stability control or another industry term.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 468px; height: 60px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1062932554684497" data-ad-slot="3004582167"></ins>

Back Up Without Hitting Things

Sensors installed at the rear of vehicles detect objects in your path when backing up that may not be seen in your rear view mirrors. The objects could be anything from a bicycle left behind your car in your driveway to a child sitting on the ground just behind your car. Inside the car you hear a beeping warning system that advises you of proximity between your car and the object.

See What Is Behind You

Cameras placed at the rear of passenger vehicles are slated to become mandatory as standard equipment by the 2018 model year beginning in the month of May. They are already an option or standard equipment on many vehicles. A camera lets you view what is behind you on a monitoring screen in the passenger compartment. One manufacturer offers a 360 degree view of the exterior of the vehicle to assist when navigating narrow spaces.

Hit the Brakes Even When You Do Not See the Danger

This system started out with sensors that warned you of something too close in front of you, but did not automatically apply the brakes. You had to respond to the early warning and hit the brakes yourself. Automobile manufacturers now offer various forward collision mitigation systems that will stop your car before hitting something in front of you. This can greatly reduce failure to yield side impact and rear end collisions at stop signs, traffic lights and in busy city traffic.

Crush Your Car Around You

You have probably heard of crumple zones and side-impact reinforcement beams. All these engineering feats are designed to take the energy produced by impact and disperse it around you and your passengers. The goal is to take crash energy and keep it out of the passenger compartment and away from the bodies of the occupants. The engineering works best when occupants are kept in place in their seats.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 250px; height: 250px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1062932554684497" data-ad-slot="7923851369"></ins>

To do this, their forward momentum needs to be slowed and halted as gently as possible to avoid unnecessary added injuries. Seat belts and airbags are restraint systems that help to keep you from flopping about inside your car in an accident. Added systems, such as padded areas for knees to hit, are also integrated into a system. If you do not wear a seat belt, you greatly reduce the engineered effectiveness of the system.

Other technologies include lane-departure warning systems and radar-like systems that warn you of vehicles in your blind spots. The latest is self-driving cars to take human driver error potential out of the equation of driving safety altogether.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 300px; height: 250px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1062932554684497" data-ad-slot="1854409767"></ins>

The days have gotten shorter, the nights have gotten longer and it has definitely gotten colder, this can only mean one thing, winter is coming. It is very easy to take your car for granted, but even the most modern of cars can struggle in winter. However, there are many things you can do to combat this and help to keep your car running smoothly, even in the coldest of climates.

Check your tyres

Slippery roads are a certainty around the U.K in winter. They are extremely dangerous as most of the time you can’t see how bad they are until it’s too late. To prevent ever losing control of your car on a cold, icy road you must check the amount of tread you have on your tyres before setting out. Experts agree that you should have a minimum depth of 3mm, although this is larger than is legally required, it is always better to be safe than sorry. Although the legal depth of tread is 1.6mm, it is worth bearing in mind that it takes an extra two car lengths (8 metres) to stop at 50 mph than if your tread was 3 millimetres. You should also check your tyre pressure. Although this will vary depending on the car and tyre, the recommended tyre pressure is usually between 30 and 35 PSI. If you are planning to do a lot of driving in winter then it might also be worthwhile you investing in some winter tyres or snow chains.

Always refill the radiator

It may sound a little obvious, but many of us are guilty of not topping up our car radiators enough. Keeping these topped up with antifreeze in the winter is incredibly important as it will stop the liquid in the cooling system from turning into ice. It is always a good idea to keep an extra bottle of this in your boot for emergencies.

Make sure you drive your car

This might sound strange, but during winter it’s hugely important to actually drive your car as an unused car seize up during the cold, the battery can go flat and mildew can build up on the interior. By using it when you can you can keep it warm and ensure the car will run smoothly whenever you need it.

Don’t rush to start your car

Starting your car during extreme cold can be a nervous moment, so many of rush it and turn the ignition on as soon as possible, even though this could potentially damage your car. However, it is worthwhile leaving the ignition on for approximately five seconds before activating the starter motor. This will allow fuel pumps time to pressurise and the car’s electrical system will have the chance to complete any diagnostics check first, saving the battery the extra stress of performing these tasks while it has to churn the engine over.

Avoid revving the engine

When your car is cold the engine oil takes longer to reach the moving parts and so revving the engine needlessly will increase wear rates, as well as wasting fuel. Never run the engine in an enclosed space, the exhaust gases are still poisonous even on the most modern of vehicles.

Find a good parking space

When the mornings are extra cold and there’s ice on the ground we all have that same nervous thought when first getting into our cars, “please start first time”. Well, to give your car the best chance of starting straight away you need to park it in a sheltered and preferably dry place. If you don’t have a car cover or sheltered area then try leaving your car in the lee of your house or beside a tall hedge. This will then help to protect it against the cold elements and reduce the chances of it not starting.

Check your battery

The cold and wet weather that winter brings is a complete battery killer. Although we have already discussed how to prevent your car from seizing up and not starting, it is still a good idea to test your battery before winter arrives. That way you already know if you need to invest in a new one and you won’t have any unwelcomed surprises later in the year. With the correct equipment you can actually check this yourself, otherwise you can take your car to a specialist where they can do this quickly.

Check your screen wash

In spring and summer many of us get away with just putting water in our windscreen washer, however, in winter it is worth switching this for a ready mixed or concentrated screen wash. This is because there is a much higher chance of your windscreen wipers smearing grime and dirt during winter. Water simply won’t get rid of this efficiently and not to mention screen wash has a lower freezing temperature too, meaning you won’t end up with frozen washer jets on a cold winter’s morning.

Check your exterior lights

During winter you will do much more driving in the dark, so be sure to always check and clean your lights regularly. The salt and dirt can quickly build-up, reducing visibility at night as well as during periods of snow, fog and rain. It is always good to carry extra bulbs in case of a failure.

Check under the bonnet

During winter, it’s very easy for wet, dead leaves to find their way into your car and under your bonnet, blocking your interior air vents, so be sure to check for this before starting your journey. If the inside of your car becomes misty then make sure to switch on your air conditioning. This will help to both defog the interior and help to keep it in optimum condition.

Winter can be a dangerous time to drive in, so when you do have to get in your car make sure you have the following items ready if you need them:

A hazard warning triangle

Hi-visibility vest

De-icer and a scraper

Screen wash

A shovel

A mobile phone and charger

A first aid kit

A tow rope

Warm clothes

Food and drink

Wellington boots

A torch

Preparing to sell your motor home

Before you sell your motor home there are a few things to consider that can help or hinder your pathway to a selling your motor home. We’ve outlined these below so that you understand what you need to address in order to secure a successful and lucrative sale.

Evidence of paperwork

If you are able to show prospective buyers evidence that your vehicle is in good shape or has been looked after then you have a stronger chance of making a sale. Make sure you are able to present a valid MOT. If the time has almost come to get it renewed, don‘t delay, get it sorted out as soon as possible. A 12 month MOT will reassure a prospective buyer whereas no MOT will only ring alarm bells.

If you purchased your motor home from new then you can make your motor home more appealing by showing them a properly stamped service history book to show them that it has been looked after. A well maintained motor home with a documented service history should demand a higher price. Also be sure to present your vehicle registration document which has the details of the registered keeper. Instruction manuals are also a useful thing to present and help the potential buyer to really familiarise themselves with what they might be buying.

If you can display evidence that you have had a motor home habitation service carried out this will also be beneficial. You can think of a habitation service as being a motor homes equivalent to an MOT for the aspects of your motor home that are used for living such as LPG / Water / Electricity.

Wear and tear

Unfortunately, even minor damage like dents or holes caused by road debris or hail reduces the value of your motor home. However, minor bumps and scratches can easily be repaired. The cost of the work will be far less than the potential loss of value when you are trying to sell your motor home with visible damage. Be sure not to overlook the inside of the vehicle for any potential wear and tear. It’s very important to give interior bodywork, furniture and equipment all a thorough inspection. For example, one of the most common repairs is from damage caused by wind-out awnings which are not properly secured when extended. So look into every detail to make sure you

Damp and water damage

Some motor homes leak for years without any visible signs of water damage, and by the time you discover it’s there the damage can already be expensive. Larger motor homes that feature indoor plumbing for kitchen sinks, showers or toilets have on-board water tank or tanks that have been known to potentially leak and cause damage. You know you have a water leak in your motor home when you see mould, mildew, rust and rotted wood.

The quicker you spot a possible leak, the quicker you can address it. Stains, discolouration, swollen wall, saggy ceilings, warped flooring and a damp or mouldy smell are tell-tale signs. Make sure your motor home is relatively dried out before making any significant repairs. First, you should remove and dispose of any soggy or damaged materials. If any wood displays signs of excessive rot and decay, it’s best to replace it with new wood. If the wood can be salvaged, then apply a coat of hardener and let it dry before adding wood putty to the more heavily damaged parts.

Paintwork

Elements like acidity in rain, road salt, UV rays and general pollution from the sun all damage the outside of your vehicle over time. So treating your motor home to be resistant to stains, fading and oxidisation is a wise move if you want a gleaming, speck-free motor home. There is a whole range of automotive touch up pain you can use to achieve this effect from pain pens to address small motor home scratches, to brush cap bottles for scratches and chips to spray cans for larger jobs.

Tyres

Tyres are designed and built to be used. The rubber used in tyres ages faster when the tyres are not used. When tyres sit still, they start to dry out and age faster. The problem is, the tyres on many motor homes don’t get used that much. To determine if your tyres need replacing inspect them for cracks. Cracks less than 1/32-inch deep are fine, but if the cracks are more than 2/32-inch deep the tyre should be replaced immediately. Tyre professionals would recommend replacing motor home tyres every 6 years because of faster aging and weather cracking and infrequent use.

Roof condition

You should carry out annual or even biannual inspections to spot cracks that may lead to a water leak happening later down the line. A leak can happen around roof vents, the sky light and the front and rear top seams. If you have luggage or storage racks on the roof that have been used plenty of times or have been overloaded, they are likely to cause a roof leak. It’s advisable to have your motor home roof resealed every 5 to 10 years to combat hazardous leaks from occurring.

Motor home extras

If you love DIY and think any modifications will add to the value and appeal of your motor home then think again. These practical touches might work for you, but they may not suit a potential buyer. So consider removing extra shelves, hooks to return your motor home back to it’s original state. Depersonalise as much as you can, removing extra cushions, throws and personal keepsakes and out them aside for your next motor home. However, make sure you take out and display the tools and accessories that come with the motor home as this will only make your motor home look more attractive.

Cleanliness and general presentation

Last but not least is the cleanliness of your motor home. By presenting the motor home in the best possible light you will undoubtedly have a greater chance of making a sale. Start by cleaning windows and wheels with good quality vehicle shampoo and polish. Clear out any rubbish and don’t forget to empty the fridge. Inspect carpets, curtains and upholstery and wash and vacuum anything that isn’t clean. If you want the job done right then hire a professional valet to help your motor home appear spotless to any prospective buyer.

Think of adding elements that spruce up the general presentation of your motor home. Put fresh flowers on the table, hang brightly coloured towels in the bathroom or even perhaps leave some freshly baked bread and coffee on the kitchen counter to create a real home from home feeling.

Where can I sell my motor home?

Locally

Yes, this method may not give you reach you want but it will undoubtedly, connect you with keen buyers. For instance, it costs close to nothing to park your motor home in an area with high traffic with a FOR SALE sign, using local periodicals or magazine classifieds or using your local campgrounds for flyers or ads.

How to sell your motorhome online

There are a number of channels online to choose from to advertise your motor home sale. Here are a few of the main ones:

Autotrader Motorhomes

For many people Autotrader motorhome is the best place to buy a motorhome or put your used motorhome up for sale in the UK. They promise to sell your motorhome fast by creating an advert in minutes. If you have a caravan, there is also a Autotrader Caravan marketplace where you can sell your caravan at a price that you want.

Classifieds

Classified websites provide a good platform for you to sell your motor home to prospective buyers. From Gumtree to Craigslist to the Caravan and Motor home Club classified section, there are plenty of options available. But just be aware of scammers as there are plenty of them around.

Online auctions

eBay Motors is an online marketplace for buying and selling vehicles and accessories. There are several services and tools to help you buy and sell your motor home and the listing formats are like those on eBay.

Forums

There are dozens of motor home forums out there for nearly every manufacturer, type of motor home and motor home organization. You’ll find lots of motor home enthusiasts on these forums so you’ll have a great chance of getting advice on selling your motor home and to build a rapport with prospective buyers.

Motor home dealer

To make the sale quick and relatively painless, many people will sell direct to a motor home dealer. When you sell your motor home to a dealer you are sure of a guaranteed sale. You might be looking at less money than you would get if you were selling privately, but a dealer will take all the hassle out of speaking and dealing with private buyers. You’ll also avoid dealing with those who contact you and can’t really afford your motor home – so it can be a massive time saver.

Motor home broker

A broker is a company that will accept your motor home onto their books and try to match it with a buyer. You don’t get paid until the broker sells the motor home and then they will take their commission. Think of the relationship that a real estate agent has with a home seller you that’s the relationship you will have with a broker.

How to place an advert for your used motorhome

When placing an advert to sell your motor home, there is one golden rule you need to consider. Before you do anything, make sure you are honest and open about the condition of your motor home, otherwise you will have lots of wasted test drives and meetings that don’t lead to a sale. Taking the first step will place you a better position for a sale. There are other things to consider though when placing an effective ad online.

Photos

Be sure to use a good digital camera. Take as many photos as yuo can from every imaginable view, then afterwards touch up or edit them if necessary, choose the best 10 to 15 you can find. Try and aim for an equal split between pictures from outside and inside the motor home.

Descriptions

Look at ads other people have written about the same brand, year and model and copy what applies to yours. Keep the ad simple and use lists rather than wordy descriptions. Ensure the ad is also accurate and grammatically correct.

How much is my motor home worth?

When it comes to valuing your motor home, there is no definitive guide. With such a wide range available of different sizes, layouts and types, valuation can prove difficult. If you set the price too high you’ll have few prospects. Set it too low you could lose out on a potentially higher sale. Ideally you want to set the price above what you want to accept, which leaves room for customers to haggle.

If you still can’t decide on how to price it then luckily there are ways and sources where you can get some idea of how much your motor home might actually be worth.

Get a free quote online

One tactic is to try out the many sell my motor home valuation tools available online, gathering a number of quotes as you go along. If you compare enough you might get some idea of what might be offered for your motor home.

Motor home appraisal service

There are companies that provide certified pre-purchase inspections and third party independent appraisals of your motor home. Alternatively some motor home users choose to use the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) RV appraisal guides. The NADA RV values are calculated based on demand and selling prices at motor home dealerships, motor home auctions and motor home sales websites. NADA Guide valuations won’t give you the definitive end asking price but it will help you feel better informed.

How to sell your motorhome summarised

<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:inline-block;width:300px;height:250px"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-1062932554684497"
     data-ad-slot="1854409767"></ins>

So in summary if you are looking to get the best possible price when selling your motor home, don’t forget to keep the following mind:

-Pay attention to aspects that can help or hinder the sale of your motor home

-Investigate what channel is best for selling your motor home

-Come to a price that you’re happy with by gathering online quotes or by using a third party motor home appraisal service

TOP TIPS ON SELLING YOUR MOTORHOME

Be friendly and try to build a rapport when people call. People buy from other people they trust

Never lie about your vehicle

Encourage people to come out and see your motor home in person

When a potential buyer arrives, have the sales paperwork at hand

Get complete buyer information prior to signing anything

Like all electrical and mechanical equipment, a lift will need to be either replaced or properly updated. If a lift is properly maintained and regularly serviced it can last without any trouble or hitches for many years. If you own a premises that has lifts installed then read on as in this article we have highlighted the 5 reasons why you must upgrade you lift.

It’s more convenient

Sometimes an old lift can’t be replaced due to the existing layout and design of the one that’s already installed. So in this case it’s better to have your lift upgraded or modernised.

Occasionally, older lifts do not require complete replacement so a modernisation package where older or obsolete components are replaced with newer ones is actually the best option for many.

It will make your lift more reliable

If your lift has older parts or components then the likelihood of it breaking down often is highly likely. When a lift fails you will be looking at long periods of downtime and mounting costs that you probably cannot afford. If you replace these older components then downtime and costs will be kept to a minimum.

<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:inline-block;width:468px;height:60px"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-1062932554684497"
     data-ad-slot="3004582167"></ins>

By adding new components or features to your lift you will also be able to comply with the latest lift standards.

It will increase the overall value of your building

A well maintained modernised lift is less likely to fail, saving you the costs of repairs in the long run. Having this will only add value to your property. Modern features like a re-skinned door, new lighting and mirrors will also naturally add value to your lift and premises.

You can expect better performance

By upgrading a lift you can expect a faster, smoother ride. This will of course lead to better people traffic flow within your premises. You can get better performance from your lift by replacing the control system, gearbox or drive unit.

Adding new components or doing a full upgrade of the lift won’t just lead to better performance but it will actually make the lift safer.

Revised legislation on lifts state that it must have good disabled access or have particular health and safety features in place- so this is another good reason on why you should modernise your lift. For example, large buttons or Braille should be in place for those using the lift who may be blind or have impaired vision.

<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:inline-block;width:250px;height:250px"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-1062932554684497"
     data-ad-slot="7923851369"></ins>

Most importantly you can also add emergency communication systems to let passengers inform anyone of when they become trapped in the lift, so installing this comes highly recommended.

Generally the signs that your lift is in need of replacing include long waiting times on the lift, regular breakdowns and power quality. Lifts use a high proportion of the energy, so using a meter to monitor the amount of energy being used is a good indicator of whether it’s time for you to upgrade your lift.
