Best Buy October savings event: 70+ deals already live now

UPDATE: Oct. 9, 2023, 2:15 p.m. EDT We’ve updated this post with the best deals from Best Buy’s month-long sale.

Best Buy’s flash sale kicks off Oct. 10, but the month-long sitewide sale is already bringing the heat. We’ve rounded up over 70 of the best deals — here are a few of our favorites:

As you probably already know, a second Prime Day is upon us. But what you might not have known is that this year, Amazon is going to have some pretty stiff competition in the lead-up to Black Friday 2023, thanks to a few other key big-box retailers.

Not the least of which is Best Buy, which announced a massive plan for a month-long October savings event. Here’s everything you need to know about the Prime Big Deal Days competitor, plus a roundup of the deals worth shopping now.

What is the event and when does it start?

Best Buy’s savings event will kick off on Oct. 1 and last throughout the entire month. According to a press release from Best Buy, the retailer will be offering new perks every single day in Oct., including but not limited to “purchase rewards, exclusive sale events with top brands like Samsung and Microsoft, access to deeper discounts for Plus and Total members, and more.”

The retailer will also be hosting a 48-Hour Flash sale from Oct. 10-11, featuring hundreds of deals from across their tech offerings that you won’t want to miss. If you want to get a head start on your shopping, here are the deals that are already live as of Oct. 9:

The cheapest deal we’ve rounded up also happens to be our favorite. This TCL TV deal seems to be a Best Buy exclusive, making one of the most affordable QLED TVs on the market even more budget-friendly. Obviously tomorrow’s flash sale (and Prime Day kick-off) could bring more exciting price dips, but it’s hard to imagine a mid-size QLED for a better price.

It’s not the latest Surface laptop, but if you’re looking for a solid work-from-home machine or a laptop for school that won’t break the bank, this $700 Surface Laptop 4 has got you covered. The 19-hour battery life gives it big points on the convenience scale — as does the USB-A and USB-C ports. The AMD Ryzen 5 processor will power you through everyday tasks without a hitch.

Best Buy has had an on-and-off thing going on with this MacBook deal, and we’re thrilled to see that ahead of Prime Day, it’s back on. Getting $200 off the M2 MacBook Air marks a return to its lowest price ever, and at the time of writing, the lowest entry-point to M2 power on any MacBook (if you want M2 for even cheaper, check out those Mac mini deals below). Mashable’s Alex Perry recommended in his review that “anyone who’s been rocking an older MacBook for a while should upgrade to this one ASAP.”

Christmas Black Friday came early this year. Usually we don’t see gaming consoles and bundles go on sale until the biggest shopping event of the holiday season, but I guess Nintendo figured, what the heck, and released this Mario Kart Switch bundle early. Included is the original Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and a three-month membership to Nintendo Switch Online (a $7.99 value). If you want the new course drops though, you will have to buy an expansion pack membership or $25 for the Booster Course Pass.

The last time the Google Nest thermostat went on sale was last Prime Day, which is to say if you’ve been waiting for the right time to buy — it’s now. The smart thermostat lets you control the temp with your phone or your voice, set schedules, and automatically sets to Eco mode when you leave the house to maximize your energy savings. Best of all, it’s easy to install by yourself.
